Srčani Udar is an unique act on Canadian and Ex-Yugoslav music scene. The band was formed in Niagra Falls, Ontario in 2004 by musicians of Yugoslav origins. Since then, they have released eight albums, put numerous live shows (both in Canada and in former Yugoslav countries) and collaborated with many established artists.
Although members of Srčani Udar live in the English-speaking part of Canada, most of their songs is in Serbo-Croatian language. Their audience is not limited to Yugoslav diaspora in North America – Srčani Udar has gained attention of numerous listeners in the countries of the former Yugoslavia, 7,000 kilometers away.
I find it incredible for band to successfully cross such geographic and cultural distance, operate successfully and last so long. Let’s find out what is the secret of their success, what drives them and how they operate in this environment.
